Colin Curtis – Attended and played baseball for Issaquah High School. He also played for Lakeside Recovery Legion program 2000-2003. Drafted by the Cincinnati Reds in 50th round in 2003, did not sign chose to play for Arizona State University Sun Devils. The New York Yankees selected Curtis in the 2006 draft. He was called up to the majors in June 2010 and played back and forth between the major league and farm system until 2012.
Grady Sizemore Attended and played baseball for Cascade High School, Everett WA. Played for the University of Washington Grady was drafted by the Montreal Expos in the 3rd round of the 2000 MLB draft. In 2002 he was traded in a six played deal to the Cleveland Indians. He made is major league debut in July 2004 and was selected to All-Star games in 2006, 2007, 2008. He was twice a Gold Glove winner and a Silver Slugger award. He went on to play for the Boston Red Sox and minor league stints with the Philadelphia Phillies and Tampa Bay Rays.
Ron Jackson – Ron was a popular professional baseball player and Legion Coach in the Spokane area. He played 8 seasons or professional baseball which was interrupted for 2 years by the Korean War. The second baseman first signed with the St. Louis Browns organization in 1948 and played for various organizations in the low minor leagues throughout the country. He had a brief stint with Portland in the Pacific Coast League in 1954. During the mid-1950s he spent four seasons in the Western International League, including the Spokane Indians in 1956 when he batted .332, scored 114 runs and hit 37 doubles and was a WIL All-Star. Twice that year he hit four doubles in a game, a league record. From 1960 through 1983 he coached the Valley’s American Legion baseball teams, sponsored by Cal Smith Sports and Appleway Chevrolet. Between 1975 and 1977 they made three straight state tournament appearances,
Jake Locker – Attended and played football and baseball for Ferndale High School, Ferndale Washington. He was honorable mention as All-American (2010), All Pac 10 (20072009, 2010). Named Freshman He was also All American in 2007 and Pac 10 Freshman of the Year in 2007. Drafted in 2001 NFL Draft and by the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim in 40th round of the 2006 MLB Draft. In 2011 he went on to play for the Tennessee Titans and announced his retirement in March of 2015.
Randy Jorgensen – Attended and played baseball for Lynwood High School. He played on the Meadowdale Legion Baseball team and the University of Washington where he was selected as an All American. He was drafted by the Seattle Mariners in the 12th round of the 1993 MLB draft and spent 7 seasons in the minor leagues.
Bill McCutchin – While teaching at Mount Vernon High School Bill started coaching the High School Baseball program in 1968. He also coached the Skagit and Mount Vernon Legion Baseball teams. In High School he has won 6 Northwest AA League Crowns, 3 Regional Titles and 2 State Titles in 1990 and 1992. He was elected to the Washington State High School Baseball Coaches Hall of Fame in 1990.
